The vehicle then continued south on Route 116 toward the town of Easton. Trooper Favreau then continued to pursue the vehicle south on Route 116. The vehicle failed to stop and continued at a high rate of speed. As Trooper Favreau was trying to stop the vehicle, he lost control of his cruiser in a curve. The cruiser went off the left hand side of the road and landed on its side. The cruiser received heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. Trooper Favreau was taken to Littleton Regional hospital, by Franconia ambulance, for minor injuries and later released. On October 28, 2011 at approximately 01:05 , Troop B Troopers responded to a report of several vehicles off the road on Interstate 93 between exits 7 and 10, in both the north and southbound lanes of travel. This was a result of temperature dropping causing the roadway to freeze over. Tpr.Vicente was assisting a motorist who had struck the guardrail between exits 7 and 8 northbound. The vehicle had come to a final rest in the middle lane of the highway. As a result, Tpr. Vicente positioned his cruiser behind the vehicle to protect it. As he was placing flares behind his cruiser, to provide additional warning, a vehicle driven by Andrew DICKINSON, 21 of Concord, NH, spun out of control and struck the rear of Tpr. Vicente's cruiser. Both vehicles then struck the guardrail. DICKINSON was cited for Reckless Operation at the scene. A short time later the Manchester Fire Department arrived on scene. As the firefighters were exiting their truck, Tpr. Vicente observed a tractor trailer unit approaching the scene. The tractor trailer lost control and subsequently struck the Manchester Fire Truck. New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert Quinn, and Pelham Police Chief Joseph Roark, announce that an investigation is ongoing into an officer-involved shooting incident. The incident took place in the road outside a residence at 14 Hobbs Road in Pelham, New Hampshire at approximately 5:25 a.m. this morning. The incident began when police officers in Lowell Massachusetts responded to a domestic assault situation at about 3:30 a.m. in Lowell, Massachusetts. That domestic assault situation is being investigated by the Lowell Massachusetts Police Department. To date, the investigation has revealed that the adult male involved in that domestic situation eventually fled in his car towards New Hampshire. He was pursued by several police officers from multiple agencies into Pelham, New Hampshire, where he was forced to stop on Rte. 38 in Pelham. Officers on the scene attempted to convince the male subject to surrender peacefully. Instead, the male subject stepped out of his car armed with a handgun. The police continued to talk to the male subject and spent a considerable amount of time trying to get him to surrender. The male subject did not surrender or drop his handgun. He got back into his car and drove off of Rte. 38 down onto Hobbs Road in Pelham. An unmarked police cruiser forcibly stopped the male subject’s car in front of 14 Hobbs Road. The male stepped out of his car, armed with a handgun. Shortly after that, the male subject advanced towards several police officers while making statements to them and armed with a handgun. As the man continued to advance on the officers with his handgun, several officers from multiple agencies fired at the man, hitting and killing him. One of the responding police officers suffered damage to his ear as a result of the gunfire. No other officers or civilians were injured. The deceased male subject has been identified as Alberto Pagan, age 21, of Dracut, Massachusetts. The Ford then landed in the passing lane of the I-93 northbound where it continued to roll across the remaining lanes of travel and into the median strip dividing I-93 north and the I-93 on ramp at Exit 24, where it came to rest. Manuel was ejected from the car where he was treated at the scene by members of the Ashland Fire Rescue and subsequently transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth in serious to critical condition.
